I have an '85 runner with the 3.slow v6 engine and recently it's been dying on me (have to jumpstart every time.) Basically what happens is, I'll jump start let it run to charge up, drive it, and as soon as I turn it off it won't start back up. No clicks, nothing. What could be the problem. Any help would be great. Thanks!

And, WTF did you swap a 3.0L into a 85 4runner?

 

Not yet.. going to do tomorrow, just thought I'd get some insight before I do that.

Hahah. Don't I get that ALOT. I bought it like that. Trust me, I'd rather have a 3.4 in there, just rushed into purchasing it lol. Thanks for your reply

 

Ask Autozone or whoever to bring their machine out to your car, if you can get it to their parking lot, and test your battery and alternator.
