injector maybe? need a hand
I have a new rebuilt i just installed in my 85 (22re). i want to drive this thing bad! but it is missing completely on #3. I checked for spark and seem to get good spark on all 4 cylinders. I pulled the plugs and #3 is untouched while the other three look like they have been lighting up some gas. so it must be three.
So i pulled each injector plugs one by one and tested the volts at idle. All four gave a reading jumping between .15-.16volts or .16 -.17volts (on the 20v setting) It seems obvious that the number three injector is bad since it seems to be getting the same signal as the other four. I am also thinking as a result of brainitus i could have possibly switched #3 and #4 injector plugs with eachother. but #4 is firing and #3 is not at all. all the injectors are new rebuilts from LCE. should i try switching 3 and 4 injector plugs or could i do some damage doing crazy stuff like that?
anyone out there got an ideer? i'm going to go drink several beers and think about it.

could be, although they said valves should be fine for a 1000 miles, you never know. i'll try tomorrow switching 'em around and maybe check the valve clearances. thanks

I went ahead and pulled the plenum and rail and switched 1 and 3 injectors, and the miss followed to #1 piston. i called LC and they said that it is rare but sometimes you get a stuck injector. they said to try tapping on it with something wooden or plastic while it is running because sometimes that will free up the injector, and if that doesn't work they would send out a new injector asap.
it didn't work so now i'm waiting on the new one. gonna be five days, but at least they were cool about it and sent it out right away for free.
thanks and peace yota brothers
