Hard Start

I have a 85 with 22re, Sometimes when It's warmed up and have been driving for awhile It doesn't like to start back up very easy like its getting flooded or something, takes like 30 seconds to get it started back up. Anyone know what could cause this?

Might check the cold start injector, maybe it is coming on when it shouldn't or not when it should. FSM has the testing procedure.

Or try the fuel pump test jumper, might be that the pump is not starting up and if so you'll find it cranking and cranking until you pull enough air through the AFM to open the flapper and start the pump:

The cold start injector should only work when the engine is cold and only when cranking engine. You can check it's electrical operation with a 12v test light. Your air filter might need cleaning.

Check the cold start injector time switch. It is one of the two sensors located below the throttle body next the the head, usually the left one. Should be 20-40 ohms (pins STA-STJ) below 30C, and 40-60 ohms above 40C coolant temp. And STA-Ground should read 20-80 ohms all per the '85 FSM.

Your prob may be due to a clogged air filter.
