getting into gear issues
Okay to start I have a 1985 Toyota pickup extended cab EFI 4x4
Got the truck a little over a year ago and have since replaced a ton of parts due to previous owner neglect.
One of those parts being the master and slave clutch.
Now for the problem, in the very begging of the day or drive I should say and it seems on cooler days( I might be crazy) my truck shifts like butter threw all five gears and of course reverse if I use it.
Now what seems like on the hotter of days (90-100) or after driving in town for a while I have a hard time getting into my gears, especially first.
Now I am ashamed to say I replaced the master and slave with a auto zone units not asin
The clutch grabs great in my opinion and should only have about 20,000 on it.
I think I have a u- joint going out if that could matter. and it seems at high speeds and very rare in low speeds or not moving at all when I push in the clutch in gear or in neutral Instead of being smooth its ruff and gritty feeling.
if it helps with out fail this gritty feeling I can always feel when I push in the clutch in fourth gear and let it out in fifth, I feel it both ways.
Basically Im reaching out to see if anyone has any idea on what to replace first before I just go wild replacing parts.
