Doh
You got me, lol...
it was late and I was tired. Not an excuse just some context on the typo... Not because I can't, just that I didn't..
I do appreciate your reply because it got me to try again and I now have no problem. I do not know what my issue was, yet, but I did try several times before posting.
I sincerely appreciate the timely reply..
I should have been more specific, I was referring to the full manual download on the top of Wayback Ttora, which still goes nowhere.
I stopped there, again, thanks to your reply, I found the other...

No worries. I'm very surprised it's still out there. Toyota sent a cease and desist to the host site but it's still on the internet cache. It goes to show nothing is ever deleted from the internet.

What sucks though is that if you want a pre-'85 FSM, you pretty much have to buy one. I know people always post that online library link, but if that's the FSM, well, it was no better than the Chiltons back then, then. The 1983 FSM shouldn't have pages that say "for 1970-78 pickups", should it? Us 1st gen'ers are just out of luck for free FSMs. Anyways, my rant.

All four of these links still work:
1. Direct download link: http://web.archive.org/web/201101022...ttora.com/FSM/
2. Alternatively, you can download a compiled pdf version of the FSM (1,769 pages) from a google drive folder with bookmarks and searchable text: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3z...ew?usp=sharing
3. Or, you can download a compiled pdf version of the FSM (1,728 pages) hosted by HiDesertLux with bookmarks and searchable text: http://drywindhome.net/Hilux/
4. Or, you can go to distortedvoice's website for an online version with individualized pdf's: http://www.ether3al.com/93fsm-mobile/

Did you check the link in the numbered line #1. above? It works. You just need to look down the TTORA page a little, and the 84-89 FSM is right there. No on-line version, but download the PDF and awaaaay you go

If you want a hard copy, get a used one off eBay. I've never paid more than $30 for a beat up copy.

Can you tell us the material difference between an '86 and an '88? They changed caps on the power steering reservoir and moved the 02 sensor to just before the catalytic converter. Interiors are a little different but not covered in the FSM and all years seem to fit each other. An '85 would have a different front end but you have an '86.

I wouldn't know if there was, that is why I am here asking for help.
I've saved it anyway as I figured even if it was different, it'd still give me a better idea than if I had nothing.
I'm just going to grab a new copy from SuperCheap cause I need it by tomorrow.
I'm picking up an 86 model on Friday and doing a 9 hour interstate drive back to Adelaide, so just trying to be prepared if something ˟˟˟˟s itself and I have no service.
If it's just those kinds of things that are different, that's no big deal.
Thanks

Adelaide? If you are in AUS you probably have a different engine. We have the 22RE gas and the 3.0 gas. I thought you guys had diesel so the FSM would not be super helpful about the engine and trans. There are AUS members here so maybe they can help. Good luck on your trip. I love how you guys make 9 hour trips like it's no big deal. I just found there's a forum for Australia but you are still welcome here. '86 4runner 4Y fuel consumption - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum (toyota-4runner.org)

Try this instead for 2024 results vs the above 2021 results which are less functional or non-functional now.
Using the Wayback Machine internet archive service, I am able to pull this up:

'75-'87 pickup manual gold mine!
This is an awesome find! Doesn't help me with my '89 V6, but the '88 and my Toyota Samurai will benefit significantly from this awesome resource:
