clutch compatablility 4wd and 2wd
I got clutch lines and a slave cylinder off an '87 2wd 4cylinder truck to use on my '85 4wd 4cylinder 4Runner, but I'm not sure if there are any differences between the two. This is for my auto to manual swap, so I have nothing to compare with. It looked similar to another, unusable 4wd one at the p & p. Just figured it was cheap enough I would take the risk. Now, before I take everything apart, I'd like to know if it will work or if there are differences I should know about.
And, yes, I know it sounds like a really stupid question. Humor me, please.

All the hardware are the same. However the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate varies.
My 87 has a 8"+ clutch and my 93 has a 9 1/4 clutch. I'm assuming there swappable if you change flywheels as the bellhousing a appear to be the same. Correct me if I'm wrong

Ok, I have a new clutch kit. It was just the lines and slave cylinder that were worrying me.
