AC compressor front seal replacmenet?

Got the head gasket changed on my 85, and now it's time to tackle the AC system. PO said it hasn't worked since 2002, when he paid a guy to put a new idler on it and the guy put used serpentine belt idler on it.

It came with the new idler, which I installed, then I pulled a vacuum on the system. I could hear the front seal leaking, and figured maybe it was dry from sitting all these years.Thought maybe if it ran and lubricated, it might swell back up and seal. Charged it up, and let it run. Cold as hell, and the leak seemed to slow a bit, but it was still there. Recovered the Freon to save the polar bears.

I've seen some kits for 10p compressors, but none for the 10PC that my truck has. Never changed a front seal but the process doesn't look intimidating. Just curious if any of you guys have line to get the kits from or if anyone has ever replaced the seals before.

Edit: Might not have been finding much because i was looking for 10pc13, and its 10P13C. We'll see.

Thanks!

Found one on ebay, just the carbon seals, for $10.99

Found one on RockAuto for $18 for the carbon and case seals, and at Oreilly's I found the same kit ( Murray P/N 24032) for $13, and they'll have it for me in the morning.

Thought the part number might be useful to others with the same compressors should they ever have this problem.

Thanks!

Good luck with the seal replacement. I attempted twice to replace a front seal on a 10PA17 from a Supra. I messed it up both times. I didn't use the tools required.

There is specialty tools for this:
90462 Seal Seat Installer
90484 Seal Protector
90486 Ceramic Seal Installer

Pulled the compressor, and the clutch came off with a light tap of a hammer. I didn't use the correct tools either, I used two screwdrivers to work the top seal out and a few pieces of wires with hooks on the end to pop the inner seal out. Both came out easy and didn't damage the bore. Cleaned the bore, and lubricated the new seals and pushed them down with a 13/16 spark plug socket. Only time will tell, but it held a vacuum for a few hours I let it sit, and doesn't appear to be leaking now. If nothing else, it's at least better.
