Ight guy's kinda new to the off road world, but im gonna give it a wirl here.Ok so i bought this 4runner from a friend for 50 bucks he needed beer money hehe and its in dire need some lovin.Both front springs were broke snapped in half and one rear spring.Has 22re auto trans pretty rusty.Been sitting for 3 years in a garage, but before he snapped the springs he had just rebuilt the engine and put new head on.So I got 3 in. rough country lift came with both front and rear springs and 4 shocks.Was a nightmare getting the old ones off, but finaly managed to get the job done.Rear break lines are shot and the lsv is froze so that my next task plan to just put a wildwood manual valve in run line back.So my plans are here coming nearer to the cold months I plan on a complete resto and get in the air and engine trans swap frame work body work and such have it ready for next year.

Ok so, The main cab its self is in pretty good shape nothing that cant be fixed easily couple lil holes in the floor boards, im welder fabricator so that stuff comes easy to repair. I have located fenders doors hood bought off a guy for 150 bucks, yes another beer donation which I helped drink lol, and have located 22r and manaul trans. with all the stuff to convert over from auto, but am considering a V8 just depends how my funding go's and how far I want to take this.For now just gonna stick with what will fit for the time being.


Im having troubles finding a tail gate and rear quarter panels.Have found couple sites, but non that really get me motivated to deal with them.I need the under metal peices to that conect the quarters to the cab on the underside.I could make these pieces if need be, but would like to just find the OEM ones if all possible.



So any help ideas anything ou guy's/gal's can help me out with I would be much abliged.I will post pics shortly let ya'll see what kinda project I got on my hands and see how my work is coming along.I also have 91 4runner SR5 3.0 yes that will be lifted to, but for now thats my very day driver.Ok the Hodag is a mythical animal from Rhinelander, WI kinda the town mascot look it up.Why im calling my lil project the Hodag Mudder.

 

There aren't to many options as far as the rear quarters go. I had the salvage yard cut out a rear passenger fender that I was going to replace my rusty one with. There is a company in Canada that makes replacement fiberglass panels that I'm probably going to end up going with, they run about 250each and run from the rear of the cab all the way back.

 

so your going to take a REBUILT 22REC motor...junk it..and throw a big ole gas hog V8 in there ...the motor is TURBO'D AND FUEL INJECTED are you out of fricken little mind!!!??!?!?!

No if you read that is a thought and maybe down the road.Ill stick with the 22r for the time being as it fits and i dont have to do any mods.Not turbo btw.So would be a mistake to go from eletronic controled to carberated ?
Cause i was thinkin gettin a HP head from sunwest can you use with EFI?
