84 Alternator

I need an alternator for my truck (22R). I'd like to avoid a GM product if possible. I was able to find a 40 amp for $30 with a lifetime warranty. I'd definitely like more amps, and I don't know if I trust a Kragen product. The 84 alternator, from what I have found is slightly different than the 85-95 trucks.

What would you guys recommend?

Denso Alternator - 1984-1988 Toyota PUP 4WD Carb Reg-Cab 22R from Amazon for $191. Of course the $30 should work ok the wires from it to the battery are #8 so 30 amps may be the max of the wires.

I've been running a Kragen alternator on my pickup for about a year and a half. Works REALLY good. The internet prices are sometimes cheaper than store prices... in my case they were. I snagged a brand new alternator for like 25 bucks with a lifetime warranty.

I would reccomend going to the GM 1 wire if you have the chance. Cheap upgrade for a lot more power. Get one of the ones from Kragen/Napa/Vato Zone with the lifetime warranty and you're gold.
