'84 4runner value
What do you guys think about $2500 for a very clean '84 4runner 4x4 5spd manual. Unknown miles at this point. I'm checking it out on craigslist. It looks to be in great shape. I'm going to call the seller tomorrow if I get a chance. Thanks!

[QUOTE=85toy;51003305]you cant talk stagger lee you stole that from the seller.[/QUOTE
Thats right! You definately stole that! This one isn't that nice! I talked to the guy on the phone today, but haven't checked it out yet. He told me it has a new head/timing set/brakes rotors, rebuilt carb, new trd clutch. 168k miles. The rear fenderwells have rust pinholes, and the windshield has a leak. Otherwise straight and clean. I might go look at it today if I get a chance. His asking price is 3k, and he said he would go down 800 without a extra set of rims tires, and even more without the soft top.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Leave the extra rims and tires and get that soft top and sell it to me. I found my windshield leaked too in this last rain, so I siliconed her up for the winter, and will reseal in the spring. If has receipts for that work done, thats really good. Thats the work no one likes to do but usually has to when we buy an older yote. Go for it!
Take some pics and post em up when you go check it out.

Okay, I went and looked at it today. Theres a little more rust than a few pinholes, but its an easy fix, as its only on the rear fender lip and not further up. There is some surface rust on paint chip areas as well but no big deal. I haven't heard it run since the owners at work. Its an sr5 with tach/inclininometer, and the interior is in nice shape. It has 167k on the odo. It looks like the oilpan has a leak, and the rear pinion seal is leaking. Otherwise I think I'll try to pick it up!

I don't have that luxury of buying rust free 1st gens! I sold my '84 truck six years ago for 2500. The older toyota 4x4s go for a lot around here, and as soon as one pops up for sale they are gone. Hopefully I can get it for about 2,000.
