'84 22R Pickup A/C Cooling Unit Removal
Heya, so I'm looking to delete the interior components of my A/C system but when I got the glove compartment off, things looked a little different than the way I was interpreting my Chilton's.
Is the giant gray box the cooling unit? It seems larger than the evaporator, extending to the right and left. I don't wanna remove any fan or heater stuff, just the A/C.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is the a/c evaporator.
Removale is a matter of a few connectors and 8 or 9 10mm head screws.
you will need to fill the space between the fan and the heater.
You can remove the evaporator unit from the case and reinstall the case with firewall holes plugged. There is also a connection piece for trucks that had no a/c...
