84 22R + MSD = high idle?
1984 4runner with 22r carb motor. Installed an MSD 6-AL and a new coil on my truck tonite. Now, I can't seem to get the idle settled down, very high. Otherwise, truck is running good, smoother and no more backfires. All vaccum lines are correct, carb was rebuilt less than 2000km ago.
I reset the idle mixture to the stock 3.5 turns out. Tried turning the idle speed screw all the way in too, no effect. Still idling very high. Best guess is 2500-3000 range, but no tach anymore because of the MSD. With the stock ignition, it was idling at 900-1000 comfortably.
Open to suggestions here, but I'm guessing I'm not adjusting something right. Be nice to get it sorted out for the run on Saturday.
