4.7 transfer case or 5.29 gears which is better choice for trail rig
This question was asked on a local forum and I wanted to know which would be better.
Guy is running 35" boggers. I assumed to suggest the R&P change would be best. Due to the reduced stress on the transfer case and transmission and drive shaft. But others say the 4.7 Transfer case change and keep stock 4.11 gears.
I look at things different because its mostly paper analyzes.

well, 4.7 t-case and 4.11 gears is "supposedly" stronger because the gears are larger than 5.29's
it depends on what he uses the truck for the most? i'm assuming 35" boggers means it's a trail rig or like 80/20 trail/highway
4.7 t-case gears would help to NOT break anything lol

I was assume 80/20 trail and street driving to the trail. I just see the stresses put on the case with those gears. But have not ran them or never been around any one that has trail ridden then either. Thats why i assumed the 5.29's would move the stress point to the axle shafts and pinion, rather than the Tcase.

it's allll about strength, that t-case can handle A LOT more horspower than anything in that rear axle, and i'd rather break something in the axle instead of the t-case LOL

What about breakage? And what difference are you talking about? Take it I have no clue on either and I am just getting the info for later use.

I understand sorry, everyone made it sound like that was a bad combo to have for some reason, and that setup is what I'm waiting to install just wanted to make sure I was not making a mistake.
