2 1/4" exhaust install questions
I ordered 7' of 2 1/4" exhuast tubing, the front and rear cat gaskets, and a renegade r1442 high flow muffler. Could not beat the price all for less than $80.00. I plan to install it on Sat. I have a shop available to me that has a exhaust tubing bender, welder, Flaring tool and such. I plan to drop the cat, punch it out, weld a piece of pipe into it, and reinstal. My question is how are you'all attaching the 2 1/4" pipe to the flange at the rear of the cat. I could not find a 2 1/4" flange that will mate up to the rear cat flange.
Do you cut the origional pipe out far enough to get a neck down from 2 1/4 to 1 7/8. or do you weld the 2 1/4 pipe directly to the origional flange? Pictures would be nice.
An other thought I had was to cut the rear flange off the cat and then neck down to that. But I dont really want to weld to the cat. Just encase I need to remove it later.
I will take pictures and post after I complete the job.
Thanks
