wires

my truck is a 79 pickup. there are a few wires going to the alternator. well i saw that the o2 sensor had no wire going to it so i tried to hook one of the wires to it cause it seemed to just be taped along with the others. i later found that my truck originaly had no o2 sensor but the exhost manifold was replace with one that did. so long story a little shorter i think i need to find where that wire i pulled out goes. so if anyone can help with a picture or diagram it would be appreciated. who knows maybe it doesn't go to anything.

its a 20r right. The 20R, in stock form, had no o2 sensor. Nor did it have the hookup. As for the alternator, is it working? If so, I probably wouldn't mess with it. If you want to "fix" it, I suggest you get a service manual with good wiring diagrams.

PS what color are the wires? I may be able to look them up for you.

here is a PDF format of my 1981 FSM wiring diagram, it is for a 22R but it might help you figure it out...good luck with it, wiring gremlins are my nemisis!
