Weber 38 rebuild ???
I'm in the middle of rebuilding the motor for my 83' pickup. I have a 84' block bored 40 over with an rv cam, and a built 20r head. Head has oversized springs and stainless steel valves. I picked up a used 38 weber carb and gasket kit from ebay. The carb came off of a 73' fj40 with a 2f. I tore the carb apart today and cleaned it.Repair kit included gaskets, Accelerator pump, assorted o-rings, and washers. My question is what else do I need to do to swap this on my 22r/20r motor, jetting?which one?any thing else? I live in Colorado at 6,000ft and will be doing most of my wheeling at 8,000ft and above. Also I noticed the floats in the carb are brass, are these the ones to have or should I use the plastic ones? Thank you endless pool of knowledge!

You MAY need an adapter plate to get that 38 series to bolt onto the 20r intake. I don't know about jetting, I hate working/tinkering on carbs myself and carb tuning is not my area of expertise.

Ya, I got a 20r/22r adapter to mount it. I just really need to find out what the jetting and anything else needs to be. I have a manual thats pretty informative but it doesn't tell me anything about swapping a carb from a 2f 6cylinder to a 22r/20r 4cylinder
