u-bolt flip on 1983?
I'll be cutting the axles off the frame on Saturday (u-bolt nuts are rusted to the point where I can't get a socket on them).
Should I get a u-bolt flip kit (which I was thinking about doing anyways) or go to Toyota and buy the stock u-bolts and nuts (if they are available)?
The only things salvageable on this frame are the axles and fuel tank skid plate

I plan on doing high steer anyways so I thought, while I have it apart I might as well build it right the first time. I'm in the planing stages, I want to build this truck and not take it apart later to "add" something.

You are doing it right. I just saw your post about being done with the tear down. Lotta work but well worth it in the end. I am lucky that I don't live in a rust belt...Keep us informed of the build...

I was planning on high steer to get away from the "push-pull" (I think it's called) steering.
The thought I had about the u-bolt flip came to me as I used a torch to cut the old ones off. Too rusted to reuse.
