stalling for years now
"Yodaman" of Santa Rosa, Calif. put this motor in and ever since he worked on it the truck has been cursed with this problem of stalling without warning. Let's start with what I've intstalled new: Distributor, EGR, O2 Sensor, Sparks plugs, Cap & Rotor, Coil, Re-built Carburator, Rubber Fuel Lines, 2 Fuel Pumps, Numerous Fuel Filters...I have also blown out the fuel lines...but still, it stalls randomly with no warning, whether the engine is cold or hot. After a repair I have driven it as much as 800 miles without it happening so I think the latest repair has been successful and then Whammo it happens again! When it happens I pull over and the site glass on the carburator has little to no fuel so it sounds like vapor lock but I'm at a loss for what to repair now with all the parts I've replaced. Somebody please help me fix this thing before I loose my mind! A word of warning to everyone Do Not Trust Larry The Yodaman in Santa Rosa California because he does not stand behind his work but he'll happily take your money. Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to fix this problem!

What type of ignition are you using? I had the same problem with my Jacob's ignition. Would be running along fine, than all of a sudden stall on me. Ended up getting a warranty replacement on the ignition.

Could be a vacuum leak, Or the carb could still be messed up. I know my stock carb was not salvageable, the power valve in the very bottom of the carb would stick open no matter what I did to fix it, it would dump all the fuel out of the float bowl(sight glass = empty) and dump fuel into the engine and it would flood and stall. The carb body itself was worn out anyway, probably vacuum leaks everywhere, I replaced it with a Weber 32/36 and it runs amazing.
Could also be bad igniter/coil or ignition switch.. and all wiring included, a loose wire or bad ground could be the cause.
