Do you have a replacement roof skin already? Is it a new piece, or was it removed from another truck? From looking at the picture, and looking at a real truck, what I would do is, Remove windshield of course, drill out the spot welds along the windshield flange, then I'd use a die grinder and run it along the edge of the roof by the rain gutter. Just cut through the first layer of sheet metal. Then you should be able to remove the old roof skin. It'll take a little prying with a screwdriver or similar tool. Now if you are replacing it with a used roof skin, then you have to be careful not to damage the replacement, but basically it's the same procedure, If you leave a bigger lip on the replacement roof skin, you could use panel bonder to reattach the replacement roof skin. I'd spot weld along the windshield lip. If you have a used replacement roof skin that still has the "A" and "B" pillars on it you could cut through the "A" and "B" pillars on the truck also and weld the pillars back together. You know, like if you were going to chop a top. I'd probably just do the skin though, and not cut through the posts.

yes , new roof .
I understand the theory , I've done many panels , just never a roof skin . I looked at it closely ,and looks fairly simple actually . I know Toyota used bass/copper on the A pillar/roof seam , I'll have to lead it .
I was hoping someone just might have the OE book though , I would really like to know the correct procedure
