Pulling Heater Core

1983 4wd pickup with a 22r.

Considering I'm missing most of my dash anyways, looks like its pretty straightforward. I've looked at the FSM writeup and it it is pretty basic in its steps, any tricks to know going into this? Looks like three bolts holding the heating unit into the firewall, then disconnect the heater hoses and pull it out. I'm guessing I remove the pipe extensions on the core itself after I remove the unit from the truck. Thanks!
