price quote for 81 4WD pickup?

Folks:

I am selling an 81 4WD pickup (locally right now, I will post in the appropriate yotatech forum in a week or so if I can't move it locally, ie easily). Except, I can't find enough of these vehicles for sale in order to get a handle on an asking price. Anyone care to chime in on this? Here is my local (Reno) forum post:

and Picture http://picasaweb.google.com/bkgpub/Y...79683682279394

It is probably in good to great condition, as it has been a single owner truck forever, and has relatively new rubber, tranny, engine, topper. If you have a feeling for the value of these guys please chime in. Please assume that it has no frame rust and only minor/surficial body rust, for the sake of this game.

Additionally, if you are highly motivated as a buyer, go ahead and PM me. As I say, I will officially offer it up on yotatech after I give it a decent local effort. But first real money takes it!

Thanks for your help amigos.

Around here you'd be looking at 1000-1500.

Seems like the asking price of 1st Gen in the Portland Market have been going up. What the are actually selling for, not sure. With less than 150K, around $1500-2K. Trucks in excellent (body/mechanical) $2500+.

350K on the clock is probably going to scare a few people away even with updated drive train, but 1 owner is a plus...

This one Boise is asking $3500 http://portland.craigslist.org/yam/car/553500926.html
Outside of Portland $1000: http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/car/551736858.html

Not much help but gives you something to go off of..

thanks guys, thats a big help for me.

I first looked to cars.com and only found 2 trucks between 1980 and 82, one was way out of line (>$7K!) from a dealer and the other was sub $1K.

The proceeds from this sale are going to a charity, so I want to get the most I can for it. I may end up putting it out on the yotatech market forum in a week or two...
