Oil/Volt question

Oil/Volt question
Hi, I have recently purchased an 81 shortbed and have some questions. My oil/volt gauges stopped working after a few days, first the Volt gauge and than Oil the next day. The lights work, did this happen to anyone else before ?

maybe a fuse? lights run on different circuit. maybe disconnected under hood? I doubt both broke. oil pressure switch is on intake side of block under oil filter.
Not sure on voltmeter as mine had ammeter from factory, and had inline fuses @ battery. I changed over to voltmeter, but am not sure how it hooked up from factory. I just found a switched 12volt lead on passenger fender well and used it for voltmeter.
could maybe be a loose ground at center console/pod but I don't think so... I don't thing either one use chassis ground @ console.

I checked the fuse box, everything looks good. Oil pressure switch seems good, the wire is also in one piece.
I removed the dash panel to check all the wires, there are 3 wires coming from these gauges, 2 of them goes to the cigarette lighter and one goes to speedometer. I dont know much about electronics so all I can look is that if theres a broken cable.
Thank you for the reply
