new to toyota's but gettin excited

hey my yoda brothers. I will be buying a 83 pickup from a friend soon it's a 1983 with a 5 inch lift and brand new 35" MTR's for about 1500 not a bad deal. it's a little banged up but nothing that can't be redone haha. I'm really happy about getting it. Heres my first question. Are the fenders easy to replace just by unbolting them and bolting in new fenders and doors. also I'm looking for a bed for the rear as it's just the cab and the front end how much do beds go for usually or is it easier to build a bed.

thanks alot guys and gals

Welcome to the forum.

First off, that sounds like a good deal. Anyway, fenders are just bolt on affair, but doors may need shimmed? I don't really know, they are often removed and replaced so maybe not. Beds are few and far-between up here, thats if you can even find a rust-free one. California may be better in that respect, but don't count on being able to find a bed. If you are set on a stock bed, you may look into a fiberglass one, I think we have others on here who can enlighten you on those options. Personally I would just build a nice flatbed with a tool box, but each to their own.

Again, welcome.

thanks alot rowdy235. I was on craigslist looking for a bed but no luck at all. I'm thinking of just building one out of aluminum alloy. good call about the finders and doors.

Welcome. If you're not in dire need of a bed, you could always just go flat bed and tubes. Either way, it's a nice deal.

Welcome!
