leaf spring questions
After much debate last night over suspension or lockers... I wenay out to check all the things discussed ie. bushings, springs, shocks.
I sprayed the shackles with penetrating oil and bounced on the rear end and both rear shackled broke free.
Did the same to the front and came to the conclusion the frowning state of the springs is most likely my problem. I have been looking for replacement front springs and came across these http://thesuspensionking.com/catalog...rplbec0a8tkla4
Anyone heard of these? or are there any non lift replacements out there?

i have been playing with my suspension lately and found its expensive. if you want the same height and your not looking into long travel suspension then you should just get stock leaves. unless you have loaded a lot of weight on it. then your going to need thicker leaf packs or heavier duty leaves off another vehicle. the ones on your link are a little more then you could pay for at a junk yard. i'm not an expert but i have rebuilt my suspension and know enough on buying them. if you really want some good travel then get some old chevy leafs. they are longer and less leaves. very cush but expensive to install. lots of fab work. this is just my 2 cents

helper spring--get an old used coil from another vehicle, and jury rig it between your leaf and the frame. www.gearinstalls.com has a good write up about this, and it works well! Mine has that setup, cost me $40 for the coils from a suspension shop that lowers cars and trucks. Watch the spring rate though. To light, you gain nothing, to heavy, rides like a brick.
