possible that they are 16x7's. he is running 235/85/r16, per his PM. i think they look nice skinny and tall. 235/85/16 measures to about 32". i think they could be 9.5 wide as i know 215/85/16 are about 31x8.5. anyway, i wish they made 31x8.5 for 15 inch rims!
skinny is in!
skinny is in!
I have the same size tires on my Chevy and they are a life saver there: no power steering on that beast.

CAdot, THAT IS JUST.... wow, man! GREAT PAINT WORK! LOVE that 'Desert Tan' color!!! Look up 'toyospearo' and his many SICK projects.... but especially the 82 he's rebuilding. HOLY CRAPULA, Batman... His 82 is just AMAZING work of restoration and, well, just sick, you'll see! NICE!
Crimson, That's a great shot, man! You keep saying, "I wanna get it as clean as yours".... And I'm sure you have some rust gremlins, etc., but that thing is VERY nice! I'd GRATEFULLY take it off your hands.... NO, I promise, it's NO PROBLEM, Sir! hahahaha. Jk, I know you'd not part with it!
red4, WOW, very nice beast! LOVE the Toyota Colors, man.... Don't think there's one I hate, ya know?
17yota, Ole Yella is VERY nice! I too love those rims....Oddly, not on every Toyota I've seen. Some, they make them look like hotwheels to me(Just IMHO and ONLY on SOME! lol).... They look GREAT on that rig, man!)
TJ, GREAT work... I LOVE those in white, ... Just something so clean about it! Quite a transformation, ....way to make it "Your own!"
Just a great thread..... BUT, ... DAYUM, it's gonna make too many 'WANT ONE!'.... Especially to 'want one AGAIN'! hahaha.

I've been lurking on this thread for the past week, drooling over all the nice looking first-gens out there, and finally got around to sharing my own truck.
1983 RN38.

Engine is way tired. The speedo stopped working at 370,000 miles, and I drove the truck daily to work and school for another year or so. Presently has no cross-hatch left on the cylinder walls, and won't pass smog within a block of a smog shop.
Work that's been done:
Rebuilt and optimized L52. This tranny is a really impressive one once you clearance the housing for larger bearings. Smooth shifting, quiet, compact. Great investment.
Rebuilt RF1A and new drive lines.
Front clip from a '79, with Truck-Lite LED turn signals and running lights built in.
Seats out of an '03 Ford Ranger
Side-view mirrors from an 89 FJ62
Rearview mirror from a 06 Tacoma.
Alot of here-and-there work. Much of what I've done was just to get me to work and back with my fingers crossed. I'm hoping to start cleaning up some of the roughness soon enough.
Since she's off DD duty, I'd like to get a rebuilt 22R with a 20R head and an RV cam to drop the power-band a little lower. I'd also like to get 4.56s and some nice 33s or 35s. One step at a time, though.
