Nice RC and Truck
That is a very cool looking Rc. Love reading your buildup and I agree it does take some time to do what we want because money sure does help. Cool Rig.

not my truck, it is a member from england.(has a ford v-6) Don't remember the user name, I don't think he has been around for awhile.
the cage is your basic partial EXO..
no specs..get tubing, bender and bend away...A program like bend tech (think that is what is is called) helps too...do a lot of research before you start.
stuff like HREW, DOM etc...
check out the exo cage thread on Pirate for more ideas

It has been a long time since i have been in yotatech. I have enjoyed looking through this thread. Attached is a pic of my truck when i was in high school. I would give anything to have it back, but it just didn't make sense keeping it when I went off to college 5 hours away.
It was a '83 with 3" body lift, 4.5" suspension with 38" x 12.5" Super Swampers. I know it would make a horrible crawler, but where i lived and hunted in Mississippi, there were zero rocks. It was all swamps along the Mississippi River. It was one of the few trucks that never had to be pulled out of the swamp.....lol.
**edit** - Sorry for the poor quality photo. It was one of the only pics i could find. I know i have some better in the attic somewhere.
Where would be the best place to try and find another '83 in decent condition? I look on ebay from time to time, but never see any. Thanks for looking.

Believe me, i would have given anything to have kept it, but driving 5 hours back and forth to college was brutal, so it only made sense to get a car. And to get a car it had to go. I guess one good thing was that the guy that bought it was going to use it for a fire and rescue dept. I have since tried to track it down, but couldn't ever find out what happened to it. If i could find another '82 or '83 in decent shape i would be very happy.

Momo that's a beautiful truck, I can see why after all these years you still have remorse..Love the terra cotta with the stripes.. I don't open this up to everyone but I can tell you're passionate about these trucks. If you ever need help finding a rig, please let me know, there are a few running around for sale here in Southern California..rust free too.. all the best tony

Well Here is my 1980 Pickup project...
Well Here is my 1980 4wd Pickup project...
what i have done so far to get old blue back on the road
20r /w 5,000miles From a rollover parked in a yard for YEARS - 200$
Engine gasket/overhaul Kit- 60$
( Found out my carb is fused together in many a reads After i bought the rebuild kit -)
new carb - 230$
New Cat - 274$
New Muffler- 45$- Mine exploded Gnar
New Pipe - 30$
New Radiator - 106$
New Plug Wire - 10$
New plugs- 10$
Freeze Plugs-10$
Working on replacing most of the coolant system and vacuum
Just in the past few days still working on replacing the rest to make it more relaible but its a Major start i think...
Some truck history- This truck was my mothers she bought it new off the lot in 1980... which means its been in the family since before i was born(im 22...)And was road pretty hard over the years/my dads work truck for along time also . So the truck has been sitting for about 10 years or more and has been collecting rust. Well about 2 years ago the truck was given to me and i didnt have the money to do anything but didnt want to sell it because it has sentimental value you could say... I got a really good job now and am attempting to bring blue back from the grave... iv spent prolly 1500$ on her so far but the light at the end of my tunnel is getting brighter i think.
