Why do people insist on cranking spark plugs in until they strip the head....

The guy I paid to do my timing chain last time cracked the cover putting the little hidden bolt in too tight, pinched the head gasket and left a pile of guide bits in the oil pan. I'm doing it myself this time around.

correct me if im wrong... but i think the 20 ru motor is the motors they use in japan and send them over here after they hit a certain # of miles...i almost bought an 80 truck with that motor but i heard they aren't as good... don't get discouraged though i think most parts from the 20r will swap over.. hopefully someone corrects me haha good luck!

the 21RU is more compatible with the 22R and from what Ive heard is a more bullet proof engine since it is from japan than the 20R/22R

81 4x4 bought it brought it home like this, 107k original miles, 5 speed 22r, no modifications done.
Couple silly things puzzled me, a variable speed wiper control by the driver side and don't know where the clock/timer
on the center of the dash came from.

Original interior it no cracks in the dash.

Both the yotas are nice!
Rc4wd store sells some 1.55 inch stamped steel beadlocks, they are 6 lug and are an exact replica of your 1:1 toyota rims.
I think it like $40 for 4 of them.
I have a set on my 1/10 sacle drift car.
1.5 inch tires and rims look more scale than the typical 1.9s.
scale rc 4x4's was my hobby.
im registered at www.scale4x4rc.org same user name.

Looks like you sitting on a scx10 ....very nice.

the rims i speak of!

1979 Toyota 4x4 Arkansas

Here is 79 Toy I just bought and it came from California to Arkansas so no frame rust. Runs pretty good but looks little rough. It is my new project to do little at time as I get money. Someone cut top off as you can tell but in a way I think it looks ok. Original Radio still in it and it has sticker to the left of tilt sterring wheel that says (Notice This Vehicle Equipped with Rear Special Traction Differntial) Made in 4/79 (Made with Air conditioner also)

Not sure how to post on this site.

Nice Looking Truck

I wish I could have one like that for sure. I bought my truck with roll cage already in it so not sure how you make it but if needed I can take close ups if cage if it will help you.

not my truck, it is a member from england.(has a ford v-6) Don't remember the user name, I don't think he has been around for awhile.
the cage is your basic partial EXO..
no specs..get tubing, bender and bend away...A program like bend tech (think that is what is is called) helps too...do a lot of research before you start.
stuff like HREW, DOM etc...
check out the exo cage thread on Pirate for more ideas
