i've seen only bad things with 1st gens and rail boxes
i saw a nice in-bed box (no lips to go on the bes sides, bolts to the floor) in black diamond plate at tractor supply for about 250, i'll be getting one as soon as the important stuff gets purchased....might be awhile haha

in order to get the axles to do this you take off the anti sway bar, right? or the antiroll bar.. whatever its called... how do you do that, and how bad is that for street driving? sorry for thread hijacking

First gens are stiffer than a plank of wood. I went off the road in an 82 and came back on while going over a 3-4" bump and the girl in the passenger seat hit her head on the ceiling and snagged her newly pierced belly button on the seat belt. I laughed.

bone stock, swaybars connected, it drives like a truck on the street, just how i like it
