.....
Not to mention.. reverse is the weakest gear in the transmission. It isn't smart to pull in reverse.

or how about dragging another rig off the highway with another rig.
I guess there are pros and cons to using a chain, as well as a winch or strap. Yes a chain should probably be used as a last resort, but a winch line has just as much potential to break as a chain does. With worse consequences then a chain break especially if not using synthetic line.

tell that to millions of towing companies that use chains to drag vehicles off the sides of highways and not recovery straps.
or how about dragging another rig off the highway with another rig.
PS, I would rather a chain break and it fall to the ground then have a snatch strap break and fly back at you.

ANYWAY , to each ther own I guess .. i'm not going to argue with you about it ..
as i have said .. I have seen carnage and broken bones .. if you want to do it .. good on you !!

and you do have a point with the towing companies using their winches as well. And rig to rig yanking is usually a last resort with chains.
But as far as vehicle to vehicle towing I know DOT allows it on the street. But like you said with rut's etc etc off-road is a different story.
anyway
