Thats what he said too after he seen it with both axels and tires and wheels on it. He says he is gonna take the 3" shackles off of it, then it wont be so high.

Heres my project.

Bought it for $500 in March completely apart, but all of the bolts, clips, wiring..everything was bagged and labeled and it came with almost enough parts to build another truck which is a really rare find up here, only thing I dont have is a box but im building a pretty cool tubedeck/cage and taking 12" off the back of the frame. That pic is a couple weeks old, its 2" taller now with the new springs. Its an 83, SR5.. I have all the chrome for it but im gonna store it and keep it nice.. after all this is gonna be a wheeling rig/daily driver, Im gonna keep all of the rare parts in good shape.. only safe place is off the truck.

Heres what it looked like when I got it:

It runs too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhsI7-a6F6s, It sat exposed to the weather and stuff for 6+ years, this is after I did the crank seal, oil change, cleaned the carb and the motor itself and flushed the gastank/line.. no muffler or airfilter and the power valve in the carb was stuck open.

from what I remember, skyjacker's leaves may be a bit too stiff for rocks. I know it would be spendy, but you might want consider swapping springs for a something flexier...I am in the middle of doing Trail-Gear in the front and dunno about the back yet. But 4-5" would be better than 9" leaves IMO...

I think they will recover your dash with new foam and vinyl. Not sure of the cost though.

Got some tires, suspension still isnt right, needs to make a drop hanger for the front and make longer shackles(front and rear).. Also need to some parts for my ubolt flip. Then Ive got a line on a longbox thats in good shape that I plan on bobbing(11"), but im not to sure yet, Im still thinking a tube deck is the way to go.

If you read this, (http://justdashes.com/dash_resto.html) they say it does not matter what make/model car you have. I'm going to give them a call and see what it will run to do the dash on my '83.
I believe you can have them add/remove holes such as the speaker grilles that were part of the older trucks. It will probably add to the cost.
