Thanks! I'll post new pics tomorrow. I picked it up friday (3 days ago) and have been working on it all weekend. I picked up an SR5 cluster at the local pull-a-part and will install it in the morning. Otherwise, I thoroughly cleaned it, touched up a few odds and ends, installed a trick cup holder, did a little maintenance, and installed the radio in the dash.
As a newbie here, I'll claim ignorance and ask if there is a Toyota classifieds. I really need a drivers side door panel. Apparently the window came loose from the regulator and instead of fixing it, the PO pulled the panel off to access the glass when rolling it down. Problem is that he decided to store the panel under his lean-to... that leaked... and had rats... etc...

This is the only one i could find of my old 81. Like i said it was the worst mistake i ever made selling it. I tried to buy it back later and it was destroyed. The guy had robbed the front axle and susp to do sas on another truck, taken the windshield and fenders off for another truck, and it was sitting on blocks. So sad.

I had thought that the oil and gas work in the US (Primarily the west) was pretty dead. I have 3 friends in that industry, 1 is a roughneck, 1 a design engineer for equipment and the 3rd sets up sites and none of them have jobs right now... they are on indefinite furlough....
It was really dead this past summer. Its starting to pick up again little by little. I operate the wells and compressor sites, so i never slowed down at all. Someone has to keep the oil and gas flowing for all you guys, haha. Not sure about the US but I'm in western Canada where the oil and gas industry is huge. The town im from, the oil and gas is what keeps things going around here.
This pic was from the other night when my wife and me took out the rig for some snow wheeling. Very impressed with this unit. Without being locked front and rear i dont thing i would have gotten very far. We went up and down cut lines, pipelines and quad trails. I dont think my 4Runner would have even made it off the hiway.
