Congrats to all the new owners! Love seeing this thread grow and grow and grow! Keep it comin'!
So I attended the show mentioned earlier. Lots of cool vintage import cars and trucks, ran into several people I knew as they kept telling me to pull my truck in. After checking out the cars for acouple/few hours I figured… “what the hell” and pulled her in. She attracted immediate attention while the event staff had their show girl take a few pics in my truck. In the end came home with a 3rd PlaceTrophy in the Truck Class. Ha!
My truck is not pristine, but she’s clean and unrestored other than an aftermarket split bench seat and carpeting. I saw many other cars and trucks of similar conditionand figured I had as good of shot as any. Good times for sure!

Thats Great!!.....Congrats!.....I find taking my trucks to Shows very enjoyable and they do draw a crowd...met some great people. I think as a whole Japanese cars and trucks have been under appreciated at Car Shows but that is starting to change....I believe decent examples of our trucks will only appreciate in the near future because they are after all the coolest trucks on the Planet!

Thanks a lot 81 Toyo! Much appreciated, and coming from someone who has much experienceshowing trucks. I’m still in the near future picking up some steel OEM wheels. Not to get rid of my existing, but to change it up from time totime. Dig that look for sure!
As for my truck and it’s condition, someone on this forum reached out to me via PM and said he was the previous owner. He said he was happy with what he saw and to see it go to someone who’s going to take care of it. And that he misses having it. I replied asking for more info, mainly just its history. According to the Carfax I pulled before purchasing it, it looked like he may have been the original only owner and that I purchased it from a someone who flipped it.
Anyhow when I bought the truck it was nowhere near the cleanness it is today. It needed a lot of TLC, I’ve since rebuilt the engine top and bottom, complete new cooling system, ignition system, carpeting, new speakers for the existing 80’s Clarion stereo system and new tires. When I originally showed interest and purchased it my wife was like “really?” haha! I knew the truck had a lot of potential. She loves it now. :-)

Thanks Toyo, you've posted a bunch so I will surely hit you with questions. 1st one is the bed. I know front fenders are different between 2x and 4x, what about the bed. If I find a parts donor with a solid bed can I swap it out?

My 1980 yota
I'm just figuring out adding pictures and I promise more will come
I recently purchased this truck pretty much like it sat for 500.00 bucks. it has 20r with 4spd and 33x12.50x15s. It has a straight pipe with no muffler that turns up into the bed with a 4" chrome tip. I am in the process of finding different ways to modify it and not go broke.
