New member, just bought my first toyota two weeks ago!

Here is my 82 pickup. I have been wanting a 1st gen toyota pickup for a long time and I finally had some extra cash to claim this one as my own. All stock. Body is pretty rusty except for the hood and fenders. 158k original miles. Since I am a 1st time owner I'm not sure what I should do to the truck, if anything. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I would love to get some more power out of the 22r without compromising its reliability. Is there a way to do this? I would like to hear any and all suggestions of what I might start planning for the future of my 82. Or any issues I might need to address as it approaches the 200k mile mark. Thank you!

it is a modified old model Marlin Crawler bumper..bought it 4-5 years ago. great piece of armor.
I tried to sell it for a couple of months and than decided what the heck, I would make it work with my bobbed bed, took 8" out of it..Glad I did

Just got myself an 83 sr5 4x4. My dad bought one new back in 83 and I plan on trying to make mine look just like his. It needs some work to get there but I love it!!

Someone did a very nice job adding that cd player. Usually the fake wood bezel gets trashed when people upgrade their stereo. Nice.

Here's a picture of my dads 1983. I don't think there's a day that goes by where I don't give him a hard time for selling it :'(. Does anyone know where Or if can get some decals like the ones on this truck?

You know I'm all for restoring stuff to factory, but honestly, wouldn't it be nice to be able to listen to your ipod or some CDs or whatever once in a while?

heres my 81 pickup

hello everyone just picked this truck up on craigslist for $1000 and loving it. this 22r engine is a beast. im in the middle of switching the flat bed to a regular bed.my friend told me it looks like a long bed but after removing the flat bed it looks like the long bed i bought from the junk yard for $350 is to long. Ive been reading through forums and read about bobbing the bed to make it fit.i would appreciate if someone could help me out by pointing me in the right direction so i could use the bed. also anyone knows where i could order mirrors, grill, trimming, ect .mahalo
