Thanks for the reply...
Why only a RED 1981 longbed?? Long story....

More for nostalgia, than function... I fell in love with the Toyota 4WD trucks when they were new in 1979, right about the time I was old enough to drive. It took me until 1983 to save enough money for a new one, and I searched the nor cal dealers for a red one/black interior... none to be found in August 1983 when the model year was changing... I had to settle for a White/Blue SR5 4WD which I kept for 13 years.
I want to find the truck I originally wanted... first gen round headlight longbed and RED 4WD. I prefer the late '81 red compared to the orangy red from '79 and '80. Prefer to find red so I don't have to repaint inside the cab and engine compartment.... obsessive? Yes. But part of the fun is the search....
As I said, any info would be appreciated. Willing to pay for the right truck!
Thanks

I'd prefer to find and restore one of these trucks to its original color, but thanks for your brilliant advice....

yea highway millings. cinders are under them.
the headlight bezels that are square do not fit the round headlight grill. so the PO cut them (poorly) but they fit perfect now and fit the hunting truck perfectly.
