HELP!!!(oil pan gasket)
im in the process of the oil pan gasket on my 80' Yota....its a PITA ....it will NOT COME OFF!!...at all...none...wont even hardly budge...i knopw its glued on there...but i cant even get it to budge..any advice would be GREATLY appreciated..as i have to have this done TODAY!

small hammer and a putty knife, tap it in, and then use the knife to seperate the pan from the block.
I've never worked on an '80 before, but the current Toyota cars and trucks all use FIPG (silicone sealant) to attach the oil pans.

on my 80 this is what i had to do and yes it was a big pita. the gasket is cork which hardens like epoxy. good luck and dont bend the pan

just make sure you DONT use those stupid cork gaskets when you put the pan on. Go to any toyota dealership and ask for Oil pan gasket maker(silicone). Run a bead around the whole pan and then tighten up all the bolts to 9 Ft lbs in a cross pattern. Let it sit for at least 24 hours(longer the better) then youll be leak free.
