gas tank differences

Hi,

Does anyone know if a second generation(85-88) long box gas tank will fit a first generation long (81-83)box truck without mods?

My 83 is leaking and I'm finding it hard to find a good one.

I have one sitting in my '81 form an EFI '88...

It will work...
