Gas Tank Capacity
Does anybody out there know what the gas tank capacity is on 79-83 4x4 long wheel base pickups are ?

Mine's an 87, but it has 13.5 gal tank. I've checked it. Ran it around the block the gas station was on until it started chugging and chyffing as the gas ran out completely. Filled it back up after almost not making it up to the pump. Yep, 13.5 gals.

You guys are talking two different generations so the info isn't really relevant. It's also not even correct for the vehicle years he stated. Some 2nd gen trucks (84-88) have 17.2 gallon tanks in the short bed and there is also a 19 gallon tank for the long beds.
