Found a Trekker Recently...
1981, 5sp 22r. Guy didn't really know what he had, I picked it up for 600 dollars. Broken odo reads 80,000. The guy who sold it to me told me that he bought it off of his friend about a year ago after the odometer broke. Took it on a few long distance fishing trips, otherwise it was garaged. Estimated the mileage at 110-120,000.
So far, I've installed add-a-leafs all around to clear my 33inch near-bald Grabbers mounted on 10 inch ugly 3 spokes To come, a little more lift, 35s once my tires go bald and new wheels (hopefully!) Also looking for early 90s Land Cruiser rear seats to install, since the Trekker came without the factory rear seats.
Here are some pics:

Nice score...you got a killer deal. I just got my '81 last month...paid 2K and thought I did good at that. You might consider a jeep rear seat though. If I am thinking right the LC seats may need something more that the fiberglass (braced of course) to work...Not a lot of people know about trekkers at least the ones that think I made my own ..
Are those the stock front seats? Mine has got 4Runner seats up front and I am not sure they are gonna clear the All-Pro Cage I am planning on installing-need something with a little more clearance..
Enjoy it!

From what I understand, those were the stock SR5 seats for the Trekker. Complete with stress-ball-style squeeze pump lumbar adjustment for the driver
be sure to post up pics once you cage the trekker

Cool, thanks for the info-can you post another pic of the interior so I can get a better idea of the seats? 1st gen seats are hard to come by in the PNW. The seats in mine are comfortable, just take up too much room...hope to be ordering the cage next month, than tie something into the frame over the back. Taking it wheeling for the first time this weekend, be interesting to see how it does...

sweet ... . a nice unit . what are your plans ?
original seats were NOT ball "pump up's " they were Factory buckets w/headrest .. nothing special . lumbar suports came later in the celica and supra .
rear seat was a Bench style from winnabeggo .

Nice Trekker. I've always liked them. Does the canopy and cab meet at all when the canopy is on the truck? If not, is there some sort of seal that keeps the wind from blowing in between the two? Any pics of it with the top off yet?

The Trekker is basically an early 4Runner and some consider it to be a 4Runner prototype..seats 4. Top is removeable but not exactly as easy as the 84-89 Runners..

From what I understand, taking the top off would be more trouble than its worth...after messing with the rivets, you have to cut through this weather sealant goop and upon putting the top back on, it will still never seal up as well as it did factory.
thanks for the info on the seats slacker, i guess i have no idea where mine came from but they're oh so nice!

So theres a weather sealant that keeps it air tight? I'd think having some sort of weather stripping that could be connected from inside the cab and inside the canopy would work. If you still could shoot some pics of the inside where they meet, floor, sides (where the bed and cab meet) and cab and canopy, that would be great.
