I highly doubt it, but did Toyota ever offer bed caps as a factory option on the '83 Toyota 4x4 LWB's? I just bought one from a woman in AZ and she is giving me the cap which she said was on it when she bought it at the dealership.


It looks really stout. She said she installed the sliders sometime in the 1990's. I will post a couple of pics she sent me tonight when I get home.

I don't think Factory installed, but many dealerships would have certain options either added @ the port or in their service centers. specific for their taste/specs


Still the case today, you can go buy a brand new Camry with port/dealer installed leather, cruise, sunroof, ect. I would always opt for factory installed vs. dealer, just not as nice as a secondary thought. they can keep their toyo-guard too.. lol


Regardless a nice topper is hard to come by that fits correctly for first gens, I gave up the search for my short box several months back.
