Bed Question
I have a 83 Toyota 4wd long bed. I pulled my bed off because there was too much rust. I was wondering if I can bolt up a short bed with no problems. I was told it wouldnt, but I cant see why it wouldnt unless the spacing from the front of the bed to the wheel well is different. Is the frame different from long to short bed trucks? If anyone could help me with this I would appreciate it. If not Ill just get a long bed and bob it. Thanks guys

you could , and I have actually seen it done .. but you have to change the mounts , and there would be a 9" gap between the bed and the cab . The one I saw had a wood tool box in the gap

you def. can't just bolt one up, but when i did it on my '88 i bought a long bed with good wheel wells and fenders and just cut out the bad parts on mine and welded/ epoxied new ones from the long bed into mine. With some careful measuring you can do it because they are the same from the wheel wells out.
