the $50.00 paint job
I've decided that i'm going to try the $50 paint job on my 81. i'm going to keep it blueish so that i dont have to paint things like the engine bay etc. but i thought i would do a build up thread... heres how its been going so far.
the drivers side is ready for wetsanding. and i'm about 1/2 way done dry sanding with the pass side.

VERY... it tastes like Corona but with the salt and lime already in it.. its one of my favorite beers at the moment.
not 100% sure yet.. lol. i'm leaning toward the stuff he used here:
http://www.wattora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4453 its called Interlux but i'm also considering the rustoleum (sp?) roll on stuff, although i read that the results with that is hit and miss. my buddy is still trying to convice me to rattle can it, but idk if it would look ok and be within my sub $75 price range.

Scroll about half way down until you get to the orange Charger...or Challenger...or whatever it is.

I've already decided to go with the Interlux Brightside Fire Red but I want to wait until after hunting season ends (January for me ). As it is now I'm still destroying the current paint job in the woods.
Please post up anything you learn. Sweet truck, by the way.

ya'll i;ll post any thing i learn, do's and do not's etc. ya the truck is a great lil truck. its not running perfect right now it needs to be tuned, the clutch replaced, and figure why the radator is leaking from the dranage tube (i;m hoping its just hte seal at the wingnut drain plug.) but i figured if it cant run good, it might as well LOOK good. lol. more pics and the story behind it here. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f114/my-new-81-a-78644/

well the truck hasnt moved since the first coat when down. this whole working 40+ hrs and fixing the runner so i can get it home kinda put a damper on things. maybe this week i'll get some sanding done.
