2wd tire choices on 80 lowered P/U
Hi all,
Found the site on a google search, but after searching the site I couldn't find any info on my search...
Looking to put some 15" rims from a Cherokee onto My 2wd 80 longbed...Lowered 4" out back and about the same up front, blocks and torsion lowering. I am currently using 17" mustang rims, but the tires I wanted to go with (215-55 17) are expensive and the total package is heavy. I am currently running on 205-40 17's and I am not liking the rpm range on the freeway.
My wife will start driving the truck fulltime here soon as we have to get out from under a Nice shiny 05 Camry SE V6(for sale BTW)...So I am thinking the 15" option will make it better on the street for her. What sizes should I consider? 195? 205? 215? I don't know what the truck ran on stock, I do know the rims were 14's.
If anyone out there can help me out I'd appreciate it.
On a side, if anyone wants Megasquirt EFI knowledge, this truck has a 20R with cam and exhaust, running on Megasquirt programable EFI using a Ford 2Barrel TBI unit, x2 44lbs injectors, and Ford ranger fuel pump...Done for under $300.

sounds like a cool truck .. post up some pics ..
not to many 2wd lovers here so I started a 2wd specific fourm http://toyota2wd.proboards2.com/index.cgi check it out .. we need more users
anyway .. your truck originally came with e78-14's bias .. which converts to a > 185 sr14 or 205/70 sr14 ... => these choices will bring the speedo to correct , and some of your other concerns ..
check out the project I'm doing
