22RE Coolant Recovery Tank

FOllowing on from an earlier thread, I have an 82 that has a '95 22RE swap, which was done somewhat haphazardly..... I am trying to redo some of it. I have moved the PS reservoir, which was basically ziptied to the master cylinder.... now I am returning to the stock 22RE airbox, and am in the process of moving the washer fluid reservoir in front of the battery (using one from a 22RE motor), which looks like it will work.... the problem is the coolant recovery tank, which looks like it won't fit in front of the stock airbox in the 82. Question is, what have others done in this swap ..... is a coolant tank even needed?

Thanks, Andy

Thanks very much, that is very helpful! I have basically the same coolant tank and airbox, looks like I need to do some creative work to wedge them in like you did. Did you use the original mounts for the airbox?

Update

OK, so I've now completed the movement of the PS reservoir as well as the washer tank and coolant recovery, in addition to the install of the original spec airbox. I could not find a way to use the 88 coolant tank, so instead I ended up using a water bottle I use for hiking. It doesnt look too bad, you can see it sort of under the airbox. All in all, I am pleased with the effort, it looks a little better, IMHO. Thanks for all the advice!

This was the setup, with the aftermarket intake system....

Here you can see the tubing I used to connect the hole in the bottom of the airbox to the opening in the grille formerly used by the carbureted intake. Also might see the homemade hiking bottle solution to the coolant tank question....
