22r exhaust manifold gasket

in the process of putting my exhaust manifold back on and i have 2 manifold gaskets, i know one is for use from head to heat shroud, and one for heat shroud to manifold. the question is "what gasket goes where"
one is paper faced on both sides, and one has both metal and paper face.

I'm not aware of a gasket that goes from the head to heat shroud...have a photo of where it would go? I can't picture it. My exhaust manifold gasket had metal in it. My heat shroud (if I'm thinking of the same thing you're talking about) just bolts onto my exhaust manifold with maybe 3 bolts and there's nowhere for a gasket.

If you have a photo of the gaskets I think we'd be able to tell you were they go no problem.

I just put new gaskets on mine a few months ago. I'm pretty sure the directions that came with the gaskets said to put the paper/paper gasket between the head and the manifold and to put the metal/paper gasket between the manifold and the heat shroud with the metal face towards the heat shroud. I am sure about the placement of the paper/paper gasket. Not 100% sure about which way the (metal/paper gasket faces) - maybe 90% sure.

Thats an exaust manifold off a 84' or newer yota. The earlier models have the heat riser on the top. Those are much much better since the riser tube mounts with the exuast bolts. I am about to go get me one of those manifolds for mine since I cant get my tube to seal anymore. Early models ones just suck for that.

Interesting. There's always something to do with these trucks. Just when I think I've got it "done"...
