1st gen pickup guys with the 22R..

I have a few pic requests for the guys out there running a 81-83 1st gen with the 22R

I need some pics of the Drivers side fender-well wiring, an over all shot, some close up of the alternator plug (fender-well not at the alt.) and the wiring/plugs going to the ignitor on the fender-well

Pics that show wire color would be amazing

Reason:

79 Truck (org. 20R) with a 82 Truck (22R) Harness and a 87 4Runner (22RE) motor

Truck wont stay running, it fires up and dies right away...and I'm confused with the plugs going to the alt. and the ignitor...

here is a link to my '81 wiring diagram...sorry it is in 8 separate pictures, but it might help:
http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o...ruck%20wiring/

pics from the engine compartment, found my PS is leaking a little and my alt plugs are right under it so am not sure if these are even gonna help...

overall DS:

ignitor

what I think are the alternator plug under the PS reservoir

found a wire or two that I have no clue where they go...it is a mess under there, didn't realize how bad but everything works

hope this helps

Your the man! This should get me heading in the right direction.

I'm less confused now

Thanks

I'll attempt wiring somemore when the weather breaks

**edit** looking further into your pics, I most defiantly have the ignitor wired wrong......

I have a whole coil setup your welcome too. Its off an 83 yota 22r. It works great since I swapped it in to test since I wasnt sure if coil was working right. I would take pics of it but it seems I lost or someone stole my digital camera.

Just match the harness up with the wire colors and you should be good to go. A LOT of people are afraid to work on electrical stuff, i rather enjoy is and find it's simple if you just look and think. A test light or a multimeter will help out big time.

Problem is there's a couple plugs with he same wire color, the internal/external regulator issue, and the 4 plugs to the ignitor (82) to the 2 plugs on the 87... I'm not really afraid of the wiring, i wired the rest of the truck with "success" just this area has me confused.

Couple minutes with the utility knife and some wire snips, lead me to my alternator wiring problem.

The whole external/internal regulator really screwed me up.

Picss
From the 82 (22R) harness....green is the plug that goes to the alternator wiring...the "clear" one goes to the regulator

Here's the 87 (22RE) plug coming from the alternator...

A little time with these and i'll have it wired right...

If anyone was wondering I had the black (87) plug plugged into the green (82) plug
