I need some guidance on repairing the windshield cowl on my 1982 4x4.

It rolled off a retaining wall and into some trees. The windshield was pushed into the cab, and the windshield wiper cowl was pushed in a little. The passenger wiper is somewhat skewed now, and the windshield shop says I need to fix the cowl before they will install a new windshield.

My cowl appears welded on. Otherwise I would remove the attachment screws and take care of it.

So how can I repair my windshield cowl that's welded on?

It would help to see pictures of the actual damage, preferably without the windshield in.

Here are some pics.

Most of the damage is to the passenger side wiper. You can see how it doesn't rest on the windshield area now.

Whatever I do doesn't have to be pretty, just functional and able to get the shop to put a windshield in. I can pretty it up later after I get the truck on the road.
