1980 rear disc brakes
I have a 1980 4X4 p/u that I would like to put disc brakes on the rear axle if it can be done w/o swapping housings etc. Does anyone know of a way to change the rear brakes over to discs?

quite a few bracket set ups out there .. just do a search .
I went with the sky brackets , but wanted something different and not an "off the shelf" emergency brake /transfer brake . I went with cadi calipers . flipped the leavers and made my own emergency brake set up ..
lots of pics in my build thread

rear disc conversion
Dang, by the time you buy the rear conversion kit, the e-brake kit and a new master cylinder, you will have almost a grand in it. I don't know if it's worth it or not.

I just use it for a hunting rig. Did a brake job when I first got it,new master cylinder, new calipers, ceramic pads on front axle, new shoes on rear axle. It stops fine, I was just thinking I might want to upgrade since discs always stop better. I spent about 1 1/2 years doing a ground up refurb on it.Desmogged, weber carb, header, one wire DUI distributor, new rings, rod & main bearings, custom camo paint job,31X10.50 Firestone Destination M/T's built custom 2 inch receiver hitch bracket for front winch mount made a rear winch kit out of welding cable. Put Trucklite LED headlights in did most of the work myself except paint. It is my hobby truck, will probably still be wrenching on it till I die.
