Best tools to own?

nobody mentioned napa, napa hand tools a relatively cheap pretty durable, and have a lifetime warranty, never had to replace any so dont know how hard it is to get them replaced.

i like westward, there really good, and jet, and the higher quallity craftsman's, can't remember what there called, "maximun" or something like that

I have a lot of TrueCraft tools because I got them for free! My Dad used to know a rep.
Most of mine are Husky...they have worked very well for me. The only one I have ever had a problem with was my torque wrench...they replaced it, no questions asked. Also, they are very convenient as I am always at Home Depot!
Personally I stay away from Crapsman because I can't stand Sears or anything else at the mall for that matter! Though this is not related, I have had horrible problems with their lawn equipment.

I spin wrenches for a living as well. My rule of thumb is, if you break it, upgrade to MAC or Snap-On or whatever.
If you use it 10x a day, get MAC/Snap-On etc. If you use it 1x a week, it doesn't matter what brand it is.
Start out with what you can afford. Upgrade as you go. You're not likely to have $20k to spend on tools tomorrow. And if you did, you'd be foolish to spend all $20k on the Snap-On truck.
Tools that you use daily should be TOP quality. I like my IR2135QTi so much I bought TWO of them, so that I could have one at home and one at work.
My Snap-On flank-drive wrenches are literally worth their weight in GOLD to me. I have easily earned that much more $$$ than if I slipped and broke my hand with inferior wrenches. At least they saved me medical bills. And lots of frustration.

It's true.
Black and Decker owns DeWalt.
Toyota owns Lexus as well.
Don't try to tell me that an ISF or LX570 is the same quality as a Yaris.
I have a MACSIMIZER toolbox (er, tool storage unit) and it's full of both MAC and Snap-On Tools. There's a few Sears items in there as well.
