New yota/wheeling pics.
Wassup guys? Me and dad went to Uwharrie today for the opening and did a little rainy wheelin. Also some pics of our new 'Runner. Check em out!
These are at the trailhead, after we were done. Didn't get any good pics on the trail.
A little trail carnage. (Actually, a #$%^%$% J**p ran into us)
Safely back home
Picking up our new runner in florida
The runner in it's new home in North Carolina
And some random pics of all three Toys
The Chevy 350 under the hood of the Runner Lots of fun.
Uwharrie was a blast today. We didn't get stuck except for once, and that was because my grandma called while I was navigating a rocky, muddy, nasty uphill and I accidentally shifted her into two wheel drive while talking to her, thus making us get stuck halfway up. We tried the hill five more times before my dad realized that we weren't in 4-wheel drive .
We're going back soon, let me know if we can get hooked up with some of you.

Yea, I love working on that 350! No emissions crap, and you don't have to do anything to get the valve covers off! It's sweet. The other two trucks have 3.0s, and something as simple as changing the oil or spark plugs is a huge ordeal on that motor. I love the 3.0, just hate working on it.

We're planning on yankin that motor back out and redoing some of the wiring. The guy just kinda "jimmy-rigged" some of it. We're going to paint the block as well. Anyway, thanks for all the great feedback!
NCSURunner-Yea the opening day was pretty sweet, kinda dreary though, as it was sprinkling all day, but hey, wheelin is always fun. Made the trails slick enough to give us a good challenge. When is that thing at Tellico? My cousin is building a rig and we're planning on doing some wheeling together. Maybe we'll make it to that.
4RunnerKid-thanks man, here are the specs on all three rigs:
Black truck-Bone stock 3.0, 37" MT/Rs, Detroit locker in the rear, trutrac in the front. So far, the IFS has held up outstandingly well. Haven't broken a thing, even in the big rocks at Uwharrie. It has a 4" Suspension, 3" body lift, with Downey torsion bars. It works AWESOME. It does have those hideous shackles in the rear that we gotta replace with some bigger leaf springs though. But the truck goes anywhere! I will add that it has an automatic transmission which, with the 4.88 gears, isn't that great on road, but off road the auto and gears work really well. No burning the clutch.
Silver truck-Bone stock 3.0, 31s, and just some chrome goodies. It's my baby/daily driver.
Runner-33s, 4" Susp/3" body, and of course the Chevy 350 and 700R4 tranny.

Oh, NCSU, I forgot to add that that black truck has been to Tellico with it's previous owner and has been up that massive hill there. I can't remember what it's called. Helicopter something? I don't know. Hopefully you'll know what I'm talking about. Anyway it made it all the way over. By the way, are you going to NCSU? I'm starting in the fall.

Masterwacker-yea I love how that thing sits! It has 37" GoodYear MT/Rs. To give those meats some room, it has a 4" suspension lift, 3" Body lift, and Downey torsion bars cranked just a little bit up front. Out back, it has the lift block, stock springs, and ridiculously long shackles. We need to just get new spring packs to do away with the long shackles, and go with a smaller lift block. But it sits perfectly level as is. The 37s do rub a little bit in the front at full lock and compression, but it's just the inner fender, nothing some snippers wont fix. Believe it or not, the truck is very stable even with those long shackles out back. Your truck will look SWEET with the lift man!
