Big Bear Pics - 8/19/06
As part of Turboale's (Austin) Yotatech tour, Socal represented in Big Bear. I'm sure this is the first of many posts but wanted to give those that were not able to make it, a chance to see how great Socal is.
First pic is the rock garden that had a few victims with springs popping out of place, a few flats and some slight body carnage.
Next is a group pic of a few members about to start through the rock garden.
This pic is of my buddy purplehaze (Dan) and his Lexo. This truck is one tough luxury SUV as it got through the whole trail w/ only a few scratches on one of the wheels when he scraped it in this rock garden.
Last pic is of the monster truck of the group. I think you've seen his truck during the last week. It's a Taco w/ a SAS and 40's. Sorry about the distance as my dig camera only zooms 3X.

Couldn't post w/o some poser pics...
After the first trail, Dan and I broke off for some sightseeing. We ended up on this trail that took us high up into the mountains. I have to say that it was absolutely gorgeous up there on Saturday.
Here's a few pics of the view and some poser shots.

Thanks to all who made this trip possible. Me and my son had a great time up in the mountains and wheeling with good friends. As usual, I came home with some new dings and a need to purchase another BFG (thanks to the rock garden on Gold Mtn.).
Thanks to Lance for organizing the runs.
Thanks to Austin for joining YotaTech for the wheeling weekend and including us in your DVD.
Until next time...........

I had an awesome time. Great to see people I had not met before. I probably should have hung around until Sunday but I had stuff to do late Sunday morning so I decided just to bail after dinner on Sat. evening.
Anyhow, thanks to everyone for helping me thru John Bull. Man that was tough work.
Here's the link to my write up http://www.toyota120.com/forum/showt...=8007#post8007 with photos.

Lance, it was awesome to bomb through some of those roads. I was worried about throwing a bead at 15psi and running off the trail when I couldn't see through all the dust you were kicking up
It was a great run, beatiful scenery and great people of course (c'mon its YOTATECH)
Delesa seemed to enjoy driving the piss out of my truck in sections
Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I have no pictures to share

basically, get on interstate 5, drive south. once you get over the grapevine, etc, take the 210 freeway east, take the 57 south, the 10 east, the 215 north to the 30 east, then the 330 up to big bear should be about 2k miles for you.

just got home awhile ago, battling some pc related issues w the laptop I took with me (blue screen of death!). On a temp machine so I won't have any photos right way.
I'd like to thank Austin for making his way out to socal and participate in our Yotatech Big Bear event. It was a pleasure having you as a copilot and also taking all of the videos/photos for the group. I am certain everyone will appreciate the final product when it is done. I would also like to thank everyone who took the time to help me get my rear coil back in place and swap out my torn tire on Gold Mountain. This is the second time I have thrashed my tire there so damn that trail!!! Thanks to the repair crew: Evan (Northridge Toyota), Josh, Mikey, Matt and your bro, Ryan, Charles to name a few. Thank you Evan at Northridge Toyota for joining us and doing the trail and providing the freebies! Thank you everyone for the great spotting.
I would like to thank everyone for making this event possible as without the participation of all of you this would have not been as exciting. I hope that in the midst of the chaos of gathering everyone on the trailhead, everyone was able to meet one another and put the usernames and faces together. It was exciting meeting all of the new faces and I look forward to other events where we can wheel together.
As for me, I had a blast attempting to lead the 30+ vehicles thru Gold Mountain. I appologize in advance for any delays to the trail run as I was not expecting that many vehicles to show up. Thank you everyone for making this event a memorable one. I truly hope that everyone did have a blast at Big Bear. Again my appologies to everyone for the long delayed Gold Mountain run as well as forgetting names and not personally meeting everyone. I hope that everyone that did Gold Mountain came out unscathed. I believe Andy was the only other person that had the honor to follow in my footsteps with a torn sidewall
I look forward to seeing all of you again on future events. I believe I smell a SD event later this year.
Carnage count:
* 1 torn tire on my 35" MT/R (sidewall has a pretty big slice; pretty much can fit my hand in... scary)
* rear coil fell out due to over flexing.. I guess the 14" of travel is just too much for my tiny coils.
* Ham Radio Antenna missing along w/ my raindeer jack ball
* Alignment out of whack due to the small rocks on the trail
* Gas tank as taken yet another toll. Not sure how much less gas I can fill.
Great photos... keep tme coming! Once again thank you everyone for the good times.
